Laurel Bahr:
This blog was my daughter’s idea. At first, I hesitated to participate. But, then I decided it would be a great outlet for me to share with others what God is teaching me. I know that when we share our stories with each other it can increase our faith. Teaching is something I have enjoyed doing in my role as a pastor at our church and at various women’s Bible studies and retreats for the past 14 years. Prior to that, I was a labor and delivery nurse for 14 years. I still have a soft spot in my heart for the hospital, but then again, the church sometimes feels like one to me! A lot of new births and healing take place there too!
I am married to my High School Sweetheart, Mike. Together we have two children, Kenney and Kelsey. Kelsey married Fred over a year ago, and Kenney is engaged to marry Andrea this June. With an empty nest and more time on our hands than we’ve had in years, Mike and I have been reinventing ourselves. This includes eating healthier, working out more often, and oh, we bought a boat last year! Changed our lives. Every chance we get we are heading to the lake in the woods of Idaho. We also picked up some new hobbies. One of mine is painting and up-scaling furniture. It goes well with a slightly dysfunctional quirk I have….I rearrange and change the “look” of the rooms of my home more often than most. It has become a joke with my friends, who can’t believe I haven’t run out of possibilities.
Marsha Craig:
Marsha Craig came onto this project as both an editor and co
writer. Marsha has been involved in
leading women's ministries and small groups for over 10 years. She is a gifted speaker and teacher who loves
women and has a unique ability to communicate God given insights and wisdom in
a challenging and inspiring way. Marsha works full time as a registered nurse
for Horizon Hospice and has three children:
Rebecca, Sarah, and Isaac. She
enjoys the company of friends, reading and the outdoors.
Kelsey Amusavi:
Kelsey Amusavi is credited with coming up with the idea to
start this blog. Daughter to Laurel
Bahr, Kelsey knew her mom had been doing some writing and suggested this venue
as a way to share what it with others. With no idea what so ever how to launch
and administrate a blog, Marsha and Laurel leaned heavily on Kelsey's abilities
and leadership. She is definitely
"in charge" of this project.
However, Kelsey's leadership ability extends to both her work and church
environments. She is actively involved
on the leadership team at her church, and in addition works full time as a
recruiter at an area firm. Kelsey lives
in Spokane Washington with husband Fred and dog Alex and enjoys cooking,
shopping, and family.
